Debbie Roberts was born and raised in Papillion, Nebraska. At the time of this writing, she and her husband Don have five children, seven grandchildren and another on the way.
Debbie was a 4-H kid and for as long as she can remember, has loved and worked with fabric. Her many years in 4-H resulted in a love of quilting that developed into her career. While searching for a business she could pursue at home to allow her to be with her family, she became a highly proficient, talent quilter and long-armer. Eventually, Debbie realized it was time to expand her business and opened a quilt store, The Quilted Moose, in 1999. The Moose, as it’s known, is located in Gretna, Nebraska, a bedroom community to Omaha, Nebraska. Eventually her shop was featured as a Top 10 Quilt Shop in Quilt Sampler magazine in the fall of 2007. As part of the feature, she designed an original quilt for that article which became the cover quilt for that issue. Debbie’s original quilt designs have also been featured in American Patchwork and Quilting, Quilter’s Newsletter, and McCall’s Quilting magazines, along with quilts in books by Blackbird Designs and Jo Morton.
Recently, Debbie and her husband opened Minglewood Lodge as a complement to her quilt business.
Debbie is the author of Four Seasons at Minglewood.
