“Is it overkill to snuggle up under a quilt and read a book about quilts?” the review on the Quilters Newsletter blog asks.
Not when the book is The Travelers: Present in the Past, by Elaine Schmidt. The novel, published by Kansas City Star Quilts, follows the adventures of a modern-day girl who travels back to the late 1890s.
Gigi Khalsa, associate editor at Quilters Newsletter magazine, wrote the review, which bears the headline “All Aboard the Quilt Express!” She calls Travelers “a fun, light and fast-moving story.” She says the book would make a great gift for that young reader in your life.
She also offers this bit of advice: “So, just once this winter, take that quilt off the wall, off the shelf, out of the hope chest, and let it enfold you and warm you like a big hug across time.”

Wrapped up in a quilt, of course.
